Mosman 1 Tute Minutes 4/05/07

Each member presented their idea that that have been further developed from last week;
Steph
-central living/sleeping area with movable walls that come together
-high ceilings for ventilation- cone shape
- thermal masss- mud brick
- fish cale type cladding for roof to catch wind- perhaps turing into wind generated power and catch rain\
-separate toilet - out house- drop toilet?
-enter living space through series of layers/out walkways to provide ventilation and more protection from weather

plain square- focused on central courtyard and evaporative cooling
- heavy thermal mass- external walls with glass internal walls- moving spaces for ventilation
-roof made of currgated iron
-solar panels on roof because of abudance of sunlight overhead
-25 degree angle for solar panels
-brick? sandstone? rammed earth? - external walls
-sent email to owner of rammed earth company to find out more info.
-should we be taking materials in or using whats on site to be more sustainable

-rooms half underground increased thermal mass significantly
-big eaves - small windows facing north
-bedrooms with walls with low thermal mass so not sleeping in really hot space
-concrete pad footings
-flat roof with solar panels
-water facilities in one area to utilise forces of gravity for water pressure- getting water from above/roof
